News on Stoke Newington LEN

In the last update, we outlined that we were seeking to accelerate the programme and bring forward funding to improve Stoke Newington for walking and cycling, reduce traffic and improve local air quality.

Unfortunately, finalising these details has taken longer than expected. We are continuing to work closely with Transport for London to secure funding to improve Stoke Newington Church Street. This winter, we received an initial allocation of funding for further detailed design work, but there are a few final steps to take before we can share more details.

Work has also continued on other elements of the Low Emission Neighbourhood project (LEN16) such as tendering for cargo bike sharing stations.

We will be writing to all residents and businesses in the area in May to outline our proposals in full, including how you will be able to have your say and what kind of wider benefits we expect these measures to bring.
